Technology

Technology

New technology, new advantages.

The Skiold mill is the result obtained after several years of development and research. The goal was to find a single mill capable of grinding all types of cereal, with low energy consumption, low noise and low dust emission. During processing, it had to be able to automatically vary the grain size of the ground according to the type of mixture required for the various animal species.

In addition, there was the goal of creating a compact and easy-to-install mill even in existing plants.
The SKIOLD disc mill meets all these needs, so quality and reliability make the SKIOLD mill the meeting place for all the demands and needs of many farms and feed industries.
Grinding takes place between 2 opposing discs fitted with tungsten carbide plates, the same material used to produce cutting tools for industries. Therefore quality and excellent production mean that the SKIOLD disk mill meets the requirements of the most important feed producers and breeders today.

Savings

Savings

High productivity with low energy consumption.

The mill is available in 4 models:

  • SK2500 with 5.5 kW or 7.5 kW electric motor
  • SK5000 with 15 – 22 – 30 kW electric motor
  • SK10T with 55 kW or 75 kW electric motor
  • SK780 with 160 kW or 200 kW electric motor

When grinding wheat, the production varies from 1000 to 12000 kg / h depending on the size of the mill and the grain size of the ground. The average energy consumption is only 5 kWh per ton. The motor is mounted directly on the rotating disc, thus exploiting the full power for the grinding process.

The production varies according to the different types of cereals and the granulometry required.

Durability

Durability

Exceptional durability of consumables.

The grinding takes place in 2 phases: The cereal is sent to the center between the two discs and by means of the centrifugal force it passes through a first pair of rings which causes the first breakage of the product, the final grinding takes place between the pair of external discs.

The discs consist of a number of plates with a hardness of 1700HV, when the hardness of a traditional mill hammer is just 600HV after the hardening treatment. Under normal grinding conditions, with clean grain, the life of a set of discs for the smallest mill is more than 5000 tons, 10000 tons for the medium size and more than 20,000 tons for the larger model, thus greatly increasing the intervals. of time between one maintenance and another.

Low noise

Low noise

Low dust and low noise level.

Grinding takes place without ventilation and this reduces dust emissions. Screw conveyors, elevators or other types of mechanical transport are used to convey the material to and from the mill. CaReDi is able to provide all types of these transports.

The noise level perceived by the operator is only 80 dB (A), when in a traditional mill, it is 85-90 dB (A).

Versatility

Versatility

For each cereal its degree of grinding.

The ideal product is not the same for all animal species, or groups within the same species, therefore different degrees of grinding are required for the various types of cereals. Therefore it is important to be able to change the particle size even during processing to achieve the optimal ground product.

The distance between the two grinding discs determines the granulometry and the disc mill was built to vary the distance between the discs in a simple and effective way.

The distance can be changed manually by means of a handle placed in the front of the mill or automatically by means of an actuator that receives the command from the plant control system (optional).

Easy to install

Easy to install

Can be installed in any situation.

Thanks to its compact shape, the mill can be easily installed both on new plants and on existing plants. Generally it is the augers that convey the cereal to the mill. Using an inverter in the feed screw ensures optimum feed to the mill. An auger or another type of transport can be mounted directly at the outlet of the mill to convey the ground product to the mixer or silo.

If the cereal contains impurities that increase the wear of spare parts, a pre-cleaning using a vibrating screen is recommended. CaReDi is able to supply the suitable and necessary vibrating screen to separate both dust and large impurities from the next grinding grain. As a standard accessory, the mill is equipped with a pass-through magnetic separator.

The disc mill is ideal for all the most common types of plants, both for pre-grinding and for continuous grinding or for the production of “broken”. The mill has been tested and found to be suitable for grinding different types of cereals including pellets with a diameter of up to 12 mm.
